Terrace Beirut – Kantari Village

A new addition to the food scene/industry in beirut , located where villagio was earlier
A huge space with the new name as “Kanatari Village” that will have several places on of them already opened “terrace beirut” which i had the chance to try earlier this week ,
First of all when you arrive you have to struggle with the Valet parking guys that have the whole sidewalk reserved for themselves though they have a parking for the place (they don’t allow you to keep the key btw) …
You are welcomed by the hostess who happened to have some sort of dental issue when we arrived where we were welcomed by her and her finger was in her mouth trying to remove something stuck between her teeth (thank god she didn’t prepare our food) and i kept an eye on her the whole time , she didn’t stop doing that !
Then we were seated , apparently the place was fully booked as the hostess said but they squeezed us in a table in the corner ..(knowing that the whole 2 hours we stayed 90 % of the tables that were reserved didn’t get occupied !!!)
The waiters were really nice except for the shisha guys who kind of had a loud argument or personal conflict that they tried to solve on spot near the customers ( we overheard them because as i said we were seated in the corner and the shisha guy’s station is there ) >…
FIrst of all the menu is almost a copy of several known restaurants but with some naming changes and adding “terrace beirut” special next to it , but lets be fair they have about 20 pages of menu (between the arabic version and the english version) and still not printed (draft)
I tried the pesto pasta (which was a bit dry)
The chicken espetada (A replica of Nando’s menu item) (the dripper needs more holes in it )
Some soft drinks
The verdict :
-The place is huge and has potential
-The menu items need to be checked and minimized (its not always good to have a 1000 items on your menu)
-The organization of the staff can be better (not to forget they are still newly opened )
-Prices are a bit over the average and honestly i felt some menu items are really expensive for the portion i saw
-The complimentary bread they serve is as follows : the sticks are hard to chew , the soft bread isn’t soft was well …
