Balthazar - Beirut Souks

Am gonna start this review upside down ! yes am gonna start by mentioning the dessert first ,,,,, the FAMOUS Pain Perdu from balthazar ... every person who has a good taste in food and loves to eat knows that BALTHAZAR serves the best Pain Perdu in LEBANON (yes i dared to say that ) Crispy on the outside , creamy and moist on the inside ... Setting a new standard on how to PERFECT (Verb tense) this dessert !!!

Now lets describe the whole experience .... 

At first you are welcomed in a friendly way and guided to your table ... to our chance we were the only people there so we knew the service would be fast and good (weren't disappointed) ...

We were served  a couple of plates as below  :

-The complimentary bread they serve : Well ... NO ... the bread was wood solid ! 

-Salade De Quinoa aux amandes roties : Well the quinoa was a bit hard to chew and not well marinated in the dressing ...

-Bresaola Et fleurs des bois : Just perfect the way it is , and for an extra strong flavor add a bit of balsamic dressing ! 

- Le Club : Ordered without the eggs ... It was really good , the bread was really reflecting the flavor of the ingredients laying on top as well .... Worth trying 

-Saumon Fume Aux Trois Poivres and a couple of french words after that : 

Well the salmon tasted perfectly , but the piece of bread it was laying on was a bit hard as well ! 

The Verdict : 

A place worth trying , prices average to high , in the end you are in beirut souks ! desserts are to die for ,,,, they need to fix their bread problem .. nothing major but a bit of tweaks can make the place for me at least in the top 5 for french cuisine
